I've loved writing all my life, but for a long time it was a solo endeavor. Because of that, writing was slow. I had too many lofty dreams of having a bazillion books published to settle for slow writing. So I joined a workshop. Writers inspire writers. Listening to a variety of genres, wordplay, and voices made me fall in love with writing even more. It also assured me that my voice needs to be heard. In AWOW, so many people write similar genres and yet it's inspiring how different each of their takes on the genre is! I learned so much more from writing from a group like this than I did from earning an English degree.
So now, I have the pleasure of using dead bodies to pay rent and reading my work to a diverse group of writers of varying genres.
